Instead of the Googleplex in California, the London location will be one of the company's main headquarters. Other technology firms are expected to flock to the site, which would boost rents in King's Cross Central, a 67-acre redevelopment site.

In June, Google UK managing director Dan Cobley said, "Building our new headquarters in King's Cross is good for Google and good for London." "We're committed to the United Kingdom and to helping to revitalize this historic region."

The 330-meter structure is taller than the 310-meter Shard, one of Western Europe's tallest structures, and sits on a 2.4-acre site that cost the company £650 million, according to the Telegraph.

The corporation has moved away from leasing overseas offices and now owns properties in Paris, Dublin, and London. According to the Telegraph, the King's Cross site will mostly be used for offices, but will also have 50,000 square feet of retail space.

Gourmet food, bowling alleys, high-tech gyms, and on-site medical staff are only a few of the perks available at Google's offices. The latest Google platform, which spans 920,000 square feet, is no exception. A 20,000-square-foot bike parking space, a climbing wall between floors, a swimming pool, running track, cinema, and a wildflower roof garden are all planned to be included.

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris planned the structure. According to Google's website, the new workspace is built around a "looped three-dimensional promenade that winds its way around, across, and up the building's six to ten office floors, linking cycling ramps, cores, workstations, major shared amenities, terraces, and a large roof garden," which connects cycling ramps, cores, workstations, major shared amenities, terraces, and a large roof garden.

The Telegraph quoted Simon Allford, director of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, as saying, "This building is underpinned by cutting edge architectural intelligence and innovations to provide a sophisticated twenty-first century working atmosphere for Google's employees."

"The architectural approach, which draws inspiration from King's Cross and St. Pancras International railway stations, complements the local area's deep industrial heritage and will be a landmark for London."

For the company's thousands of London workers, construction is scheduled to begin early next year and be completed in 2017.
